A Message from Rabbi Feig

Dear SAA Parents,

I hope you and your family are doing well and staying healthy during this time.

Despite the obvious disruptions to our daily lives, we have been trying to keep some semblance of our regular school schedule. We have been posting tefilot videos to Seesaw for first through fifth-grade students, and this morning we shared a Mini-Minyan recording via Facebook and Instagram and had a Zoom minyan with our entire 6th grade. It was so much fun! During the Zoom minyan, we sang prayers together, shared blessings of gratitude via the Chat room, and had an opportunity to connect via our virtual grade-level community.  The School and the Temple will continue to provide powerful content to keep us connected spiritually, intellectually and communally.

The School and Temple also continue to partner by providing online tefilot/services to the community. While we recognize that everyone has different Shabbat practices, we want to make sure that these opportunities are available for you. With that in mind, we wanted to share the following services streaming via Facebook Live (follow our FB page to watch live) and YouTube Live:

On Friday:
  • We will again host our ECC Shabbat Party from 10:00 - 10:30 am.
  • Join us for Lower School Kabbalat Shabbat from 11:00 - 11:20 am.
  • We will host our Middle School Kabbalat Shabbat from 12:25 - 12:50 pm.
  • Finally, Rabbis’ Guzik and Sherman will host a Kabbalat Shabbat service at 5:45 pm.

On Shabbat/Saturday:
  • Torah-in-the-Round musical service from Kohn Chapel at 9:30 am.
  • Family Havdalah Sing-a-Long with Rabbi Feig at 8:00 pm.
  • Ma’ariv and Havdalah with Rabbi Rosenthal at 8:30 pm.
  • Hasidut and Jewish Mysticism with Rabbi Rotenberg at 9:00 pm.

For more details about online programming, go to Sinai Temple’s “Sinai Temple Presents” on YouTube Channel.

We are planning more Shabbat and holiday programming to connect virtually to each other and remain in community over the course of the foreseeable future. If you have any suggestions, please reach out to me.

Wishing everyone health, strength and perseverance during these challenging times.

L’Shalom,
Rabbi Feig
