Application Process

WELCOME PARENTS!

Sinai Akiba Academy believes in the potential of every student who applies to our school. The application process gives our admissions team the opportunity to gain a holistic view of your student. Our school is a place where everyone should be comfortable – where we take pride in blending multiple perspectives to educate and prepare the next generation.

Our online application process is designed to be clear and simple. Once you inquire, we will create an online account and provide you with a comprehensive checklist and directions. This checklist will help you stay on track so you do not miss any deadlines or forget to submit important paperwork.   • Inquire Now to Learn More

    The application process at Sinai Akiba is fully digital with all forms and information submitted online. Once your inquiry form is submitted, you will be assigned a username and password to access the admission portal. This portal will allow you to track the status of your admission process through the checklist. 
    • Children who are 16 months of age by September 1 are eligible to enter our Toddler Program. Separation cannot occur until the child turns 18 months of age. 
    • Students entering Kindergarten must be 5 years old before Sept 1.

  • Schedule a Tour

    Our doors are always open to prospective families. Tours can be arranged year-round with advanced notice. In order to keep tours intimate and our campus secure, reservations are required. Once you have completed the inquiry form, the admissions office will contact you to schedule your tour. Touring is a required step in the admission process unless your child is a sibling of a current student. 

    Toddler through Pre-K ECC Tours
    Tours are offered weekly on Wednesdays at 9am and Fridays at 10am when school is in session. Visits are an hour-long, and we request that only parents attend.

    Lower School Tours for K-5th

  • Submit Your Online Application

    Submit your application by January 14, 2022 for priority admission. While we accept applications after this date, we cannot guarantee that spaces will still be available. There is a non-refundable $150 application fee per child.
  • Submit Supplemental Materials

    Please log-in to your admission checklist to upload the required supplemental materials by January 28, 2022. 
    • All K-8th applicants are required to have their General Studies Confidential Teacher Recommendation Form and submit it no later than January 28, 2022. For students who are currently attending either a Jewish Day School or religious school, please have their Hebrew teacher complete a Judaic Studies recommendation form as well.
    • For applicants grades 5th and up, please upload standardized and state testing scores.
  • Student Assessments

    Kindergarten applicants: please save the date for your child's assessment to take place on February 27, 2022. More details will be sent via email to all candidates.

    1st-8th applicants: After our application deadline, we will be in touch to schedule your child's assessment.

    We do not conduct assessments of ECC applicants.
  • Parent Interview

    Parent interviews will be scheduled once your child's full application is complete, including supplemental materials. In addition to the parent interview, Middle School student applicants will also have an interview with our Middle School Director.
  • Decision Release Dates

    Decisions for ECC 
    On February 24, 2022, at 4pm, all admission decisions for ECC will be released electronically via the admission portal. Should your child be accepted, the enrollment agreement and deposit will be due no later than 12pm on March 3, 2022, to guarantee your child's spot. We will not be able to hold your spot and it will be offered to another student in our wait pool if your agreement and deposit are not submitted by the deadline.

    Decisions for K-8th
    On March 11, 2022, at 5pm, all admission decisions for K-8th will be released electronically via the admission portal. Should your child be accepted, the enrollment agreement and deposit will be due no later than 12pm on March 18, 2022 to guarantee your child's spot. We will not be able to hold your spot and it will be offered to another student in our wait pool if your agreement and deposit are not submitted by the deadline.

Sinai Akiba Academy is a private Jewish day school in Los Angeles, serving students in Early Childhood through Grade 8. We also offer a variety of parenting classes and programs for children through our Parenting Center. A Sinai Temple school.
