Jonah Platt '00: SAA Parent, Actor, & Advocate
Jonah Platt’s connection to Sinai Akiba Academy spans more than three decades, beginning with Mommy and Me in 1989. A member of the Class of 2000, Jonah’s formative years at SAA laid the groundwork for his development as a leader and fostered lifelong friendships he cherishes to this day.
Jonah’s journey has come full circle as an SAA parent, alongside some of those same friends. Together with his wife, Courtney, the school’s head of dance, they are raising a new generation of Jaguars: Joseph (first grade), Raquel (Twos class), and future student Gianna. Jonah and Courtney are committed and active school parents, a testament to their deep appreciation for the holistic Jewish education their children receive at SAA.
Beyond the classroom, Jonah is one of the nation’s most prominent voices on Jewish identity, culture and current events. He is the host of Being Jewish With Jonah Platt, the world’s No. 1 Jewish podcast, and a keynote speaker, emcee, moderator and singer across North America.
A dedicated advocate, Jonah is pursuing a master’s degree in antisemitism studies. His work has earned numerous honors, including California’s inaugural Community Excellence Award for Combating Antisemitism. By using his platform to educate and empower with positivity, nuance and compassion, Jonah continues to champion the values first instilled in him at Sinai Akiba, helping ensure a thriving Jewish future.

About Sinai Akiba Academy
Sinai Akiba Academy is a private Jewish day school in Los Angeles, serving students in Early Childhood through Grade 8. We also offer a variety of parenting classes and programs for children through our Parenting Center. A Sinai Temple school.
