Robotics Scrimmage Success

Recently, our 5-8th Grade Robotics team had its first-ever scrimmage against Heschel School. The team's match brought plenty of excitement and needless to say, a great time was had by all.

The main goals of this program, aside from the obvious engineering and coding skills, were to help instill a sense of teamwork and collaboration as well as help develop important critical thinking and creativity skills. "It is safe to assume that all of these important elements were very prevalent as we watched our students participate with joy, enthusiasm, and pride as they scored as many points as possible," shared Director of Innovation Doug Hinko, who added that we are excited to continue to build this program.

“It is always refreshing to provide students opportunities to learn how to work together as a team and overcome obstacles collaboratively and with the team's best interest in mind. Further, when we provide our students with authentic experiences such as this it truly ignites learning and engagement,” added Mr. Hinko.

Students in grades 5-8 will have another opportunity to join the winter league starting in January. Stay tuned for further information.
