School Year: School usually opens at the beginning of September and continues through the third week in June.

Communication between school and home: Report cards and parent conferences are scheduled several times throughout the school year. Open communication between students, parents, teachers and administration is always welcomed and encouraged.

Holidays observed: Sinai Akiba celebrates and observes all Jewish and American civic holidays.

Our school community: Sinai Akiba's environment is enriched by a diverse population, encompassing families who are traditionally observant and those who are less so. Our wide-ranging community includes families from Russia, Canada, Israel, Persia, South Africa, Morocco, Mexico and South America.

Our students primarily live in areas of the westside, from Pacific Palisades to Hancock Park. Our families are united by their commitment to the type of education we provide and by membership in Sinai Temple (a requirement after a child is admitted to the school).

"Learning in old age is like writing in the sand.
Learning in youth is like engraving in stone."
