Gifted/Learning Support Programs
Sinai Akiba is dedicated to meeting the unique needs of every student, with differentiated instruction occurring throughout the grade levels and curricula. In addition to individualized instruction in the classroom, we provide a Learning Support Program for students who require additional educational support, as well as a program for gifted learners.
The Learning Support Program offers specialized instruction in General and Judaic studies for individual children and for small groups. Based on individual academic assessments, remedial instruction is provided along with ongoing guidance to assist students in effectively completing classroom assignments.
Our Learning Support Program instructors have specialized educational training and regularly work in the classrooms to reinforce and clarify curriculum for our students. There is frequent and ongoing communication between the staff of the Learning Support Program, parents and the classroom teachers. The Learning Support Program creates a positive learning environment where children experience progress and success at Sinai Akiba Academy.
We also have a gifted coordinator on staff who is trained in the needs of gifted learners and works throughout the lower school. Our gifted coordinator educates our faculty on the specific needs of each gifted student, provides enriched resources and materials for these students, and meets with them privately from time to time.
